This native perennial offers a spray of pink flowers for bees and butterflies alike! It is also a larval host plan for White Lined Sphinx caterpillars, and arguably one of the best plants to use for this species.
We have this plant in many beds throughout our yard, and watching the bees work flowers at the top of 6+ foot tall stalks is always a show!
Plants will spread over time if allowed and provided ample moisture and mulch. First year plants start small with a rosette that's close to the ground. Second year plants onward have tall stalks.
Planting: Outside: Surface sow in winter or early spring. Inside (recommended) Surface sow in potting soil and moisten, placing the pot in a sealed zipper bag and into the refrigerator for 60 - 90 days...after removal from refrigerator seeds germinate in 14-20 days.
